Samantha Mohr
Her first time competing in a pageant was at the suggestion by one of her fellow UGA student, Mohr won the Miss Columbus 1985 title. This win meant that Mohr became eligible for the Miss Georgia pageant which was staged in June 1985. Mohr claimed the crown on Saturday, June 22, 1985. Over $3500 was given Mohr with a scholarship along with other awards. She was Miss Georgia and made public appearances all over Georgia in the course of her obligations. Mohr participated as Georgia in Miss America 1986 in Atlantic City (New Jersey) in September 1985. Computer-generated models successfully predicted the possibility that Susan Akin would be named Miss America, Mohr's odds were set at 22 to 1. Mohr was not a Top-10 finalist for the title of Miss America. Mohr has been Miss Georgia for a total of ten seasons, and was not crowned until Marlesa Bal, who was her successor in the title, was named Miss Georgia 1986, on June 28 June, 1986.
